There are awards for a good season, a good golf course or a good idea. Then there are the ones that ask a much bigger question: what did somebody leave behind after a lifetime in the game?
Donald MacKay, founder of Muskoka Highlands Golf Links, has been nominated for the 2026 NGCOA Canada Calderwood Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award recognizes a golf industry professional whose cumulative dedication and passion for the sport are considered worthy of special recognition. Nominees are asked to demonstrate their lifetime contribution to golf, leadership and influence within the industry, mentorship and impact on others, and the legacy their work leaves behind.
Don’s submission is due today and will then proceed to the judging panel. Award recipients are expected to be notified October 22, with the awards presented November 18 in Victoria during the Golf Business Canada Conference & Trade Show.
Continued on A2: his sons, Elaine and Doug Millar, and the Consigliere.
